Bloomfield Road is a football stadium in the English town of Blackpool, Lancashire. It has been the permanent home of Blackpool F.C. since 1901 and is named after the road on which the stadium's main entrance used to stand. The stadium has been in a process of redevelopment since 2000.
The current capacity of the stadium is 12,555 following the opening of the Jimmy Armfield South Stand on 10 March 2010.
Blackpool FC will compete the 2010–11 season in the Premier League, the top tier of professional football in England, having won the Football League Championship play-off Final at the end of the 2009–10 campaign. Work is currently being done on the stadium to prepare for the club's debut season in the Premier League. The temporary East stand was removed and is being replaced by a modular stand with a capacity of 5,070. Other work is being done on improving the floodlighting, media and medical facilities as well as the dugouts. The South stand is having further hospitality areas fitted out and work done on the South West corner as well as painting work on the West stand and Kop. The club also stated plans to replace the seats in the West and Kop.
